Gettysburg Campout and 9 mile Hike
WHEN: Oct 9, 2004 to Oct 11, 2004
WHERE: Gettysburg Battlefield
The troop has a permit to camp out on the
battleground at Gettysburg.
Oct 9, 2004
Leave Guilford at 630am and arrive at the
Visitor Center by 1pm. Go to the 30 minute electronic battlefield show which
gives the over the battle.
3PM- Setup camp
Oct 10, 2004
Eat breakfast then take the BILLY YANK TRAIL
that is nine miles long through the battlefield and takes approximately 6
hours. Have lunch on the trail.
Oct 11, 2004
Pack up and head out after breakfast.
There is also the downtown area to help
visitors imagine what it was like in Gettysburg in 1863.
We should take advantage of the fact that we
do not have to carry everything on our backs for the whole weekend and think
about Creative foods to try to cook.
