Hi Scouts,
It's time for our annual Holiday Food Drive. Every year Troop 474 comes through
with a great effort to support our neighbors that need a little help during the
holiday season. If you haven't participated before, this is your opportunity to
make your presents (get it?) felt!
This is a very important event. Each year the Food Bank gives out 200+ baskets
of food. Each one of those baskets contains everything a family needs for their
holiday dinner. Those families depend on the donations that we and other groups
collect. Imagine how much nicer the holiday will be without having to worry
about food.
The Plan
1. Donation bags will be distributed at the next Troop meeting.
2. Distribute bags for donations to neighbors and friends with a flyer (sample
attached) explaining who we are and what we're doing.
3. Add your personal donation to your collection.
4. Drop off donations at the VFW building (around back) from 10am to 10:30am on
12/16 (the same day as the Scout Band performances).
Helping people always gives you a great feeling inside, especially during the
holidays. The food drive and band performances will allow you to share that
great feeling with others who really need it.
