Camping Hiking and Biking
Arcadia Maine National Park

When - Oct 6th through Oct 8th
Where - Blackwoods camp site at Arcadia National Park.
We have 2 group camp sites for Saturday and Sunday night. The cost is 50 dollars
a night per each campsite for a total of $200. I do not have a reservation for
Friday night. If anyone plans on going up Friday we need to reserve a camp site
for that night. Greg and I cannot go up until Saturday morning due to a conflict
at school.
It is 400 miles one way to the campsite. Map quest shows that its a 6.5 hour
drive.
Food - I am planning on chicken or something along those lines for Saturday
night. Sunday night I am hoping to have lobster dinner. I am planning to bring
up my turkey fryer to cook the lobsters in. Also I am planning to ask the kids
for 8 dollars and a signed permission slip to have the lobster. For breakfast we
can have eggs and sausage one morning and pancakes the next. I will leave lunch
on Sunday up to the kids, as we will likely be biking.
Activities- Saturday- There is a hike up a cliff with a ladder built into the
side of the mountain. Its only about 1 mile long but should take a couple of
hours. I hope to get up there by noon so we can have the kids hike by 1pm. After
that we can set up camp and cook dinner.
Sunday- Breakfast-There are 44 miles of Biking trails so most of the day will be
spent biking. I will have a day of biking planned out before we leave. I should
have a connection for the Lobsters for Sunday night.
Monday-Breakfast- Pack up camp and hit bar harbor on the way home.
Cost to Troop. - The two nights at the campsite Three if need be. And Breakfast
2 days and dinner on Saturday night.
Weather- If it looks like a bad weekend up there I am planning on canceling the
trip. We do not have to pay for the camp site until we get up there on Saturday.
