Troop 474 Leaders and Merit Badge
Counselors,
Like death and taxes, leader training is just one of those things that's
inevitable. So, as official Troop Grinch, (sorry Mike, I'll return the title
when I'm done with it) I am setting a deadline to complete the on-line training
requirement.
And the date is...January 31, 2007

Create an account for yourself. You will
need the Person ID off your BSA membership card to do this. If you can't find
your card, I can get that information for you. Keep the username and password
you choose for future use.
You must complete Boy Scout Leader Fast Start and Youth Protection
Training at the very least. Safety Afloat and Safe Swim Defense
are optional but very useful if we go on a canoe trip or trip involving
swimming...so do them too. The Troop Committee Challenge button seems to
be disabled so I'm not sure what that's about. There is no on-line training
beyond these and the council is not offering any according to the calendar, so
if we all complete these we should be good.
When you've completed each training session print out the certificate. Once
you've completed all the sessions fill out the attached Training Correction
form and return it to me via email or hard copy. Do not send it to the
District people! Jay and I will get the information into the Troop records and
get copies to the District offices.
I've attached a copy of a message from our District Chairman asking that we
complete our training - of course the records he refers to have not been
received. I will deal with that, and the updating process.
