Agenda & Announcements October 12th, 2006

A.  ANNOUNCEMENTS

1.      Go to www.troop474.org  for schedule, event descriptions, photos, resources, and the official Hickey Alaska Update.

2.      One more hoo-rah for Col. Casinelli on his promotion to Brigadier General.  It’s not official until you cut the cake.  Other famous Brigadier Generals include:  Presidents Franklin Pierce and Teddy Roosevelt, and test pilot Chuck Yeager.

3.      September 22nd thru 24th - Mount Greylock Hike – Need oral report.

4.      September 29th – Camp Sikorsky – Need oral report – description of the event.

5.      September 30, 2006 - Children’s Health and Safety Day, at the Yale-New Haven Shoreline Medical Center.  Need oral report.

6.      October 1st and 2nd.  Canoe the “Battenkill” Arlington, VT.  Need oral report.

7.      October 7th TROUT UNLIMITED YOUTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL DAY.  Fill out blue cards so you can earn fly fishing merit badge.  Oral report needed.

8.      October 22nd.  Fall Family Fun Day.  Greene Community Center, 12 to 4.  Help run the now famous Troop 474 Game Room.  Adam Clark SPL has details.

9.    October 28th Make a Difference Day – Guilford Food Bank, 45 Stone House Lane.  The Guilford Department of Social Services has asked us to help with the fall Postal Service Food Drive. Details:  9-10 tent set up, food sorting to 3:30PM, breakdown tents 4PM.  Donate any time you can.  Job details report from Food Bank volunteers VanSteenbergen and K. Acampora. 

10.                October 28th Haunted Hayride- 5:00 Meet at Fair Grounds, 7:00 Start.  Bring a scary costume!  Report needed for event details.

11. Popcorn Sales are going on right now.  33% of everything you sell goes directly into your Scout Account to buy any Scout related equipment you want – bikes, knives, underwear, backpacks etc.  See Popcorn Kernel Mr. Acampora with questions.

12. Eagle project updates - Caleb Dudley is now a man with a plan!  Ask him what he plans to do for a project.  Rob Federici’s project is moving forward quickly.  Project status report needed.

13. Do you have a Scouting Accomplishment worthy of special assignment?  Orienteering, biking, an unusual hobby?  All Scouts are encouraged to see Mr. T. to share their talents, skills & ideas.

14. REVISED ROSTER will be distributed by email.  Report all changes to Mr. T.

B. TONIGHT’S AGENDA

1.      Scoutmaster Conferences and Boards of Review.

2.      Scout, Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class Scouts nearing completion of rank.  Senior Scouts will be available to aid in rank requirement completion.

3.      Set up Troop tents.  Check for damage/mildew/missing pieces.
