Agenda & Announcements September 21st, 2006

 

A.  ANNOUNCEMENTS

1.      Go to www.troop474.org  for schedule, event descriptions, photos, resources, neat stuff.

2.      Col. Casinelli's promotion to Brigadier General is 14 October at 11:00 AM at Camp Rell, Niantic.  Any Scout wishing to attend needs to sign up by 28 Sept.  We need to have the names of those who are coming (including parents) so that you can get into the Camp.  Also, we need to know how big a cake to order!   Scouts should be in Class A's.  Civilian dress: Business attire.  It should take about an hour. 

3.      September 22nd thru 24th - this weekend - Mount Greylock Hike - Lanesborough, MA - Leave Lake Quonnipaug Friday return Sunday by noon – Thanks Mrs. Jagielski!

4.      September 30, 2006 - Children’s Health and Safety Day, at the Yale-New Haven Shoreline Medical Center.  Set-up begins at 10am.  Event time: 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.  The hospital has asked us to help out with activities and games that promote health, wellness and safety for children.  The activities will cover healthy nutrition; first aid; home child-proofing; poison control; fire safety; car seat safety and bike safety.  This is right up our alley.  We do need a rough count of those interested.

5.      October 1st and 2nd.  Canoe the “Battenkill” Howell’s Camping Area, Arlington, VT.  Depart: Sunday, 2 PM, Lake Quonnipaug boat launch.  Return: Monday, 8 PM.  See flyer.  Sign up with Mr. Aery

6.     Popcorn Sales are going on right now.  33% of everything you sell goes directly into your Scout Account to buy any Scout related equipment you want – bikes, knives, cigars, backpacks etc.  See Popcorn Kernel Mr. Acampora for everything you need.

7.      Caleb Dudley, Matt McGregor & Robbie Federici are rapidly approaching the age of 18 on a daily basis.  Ask them about their Eagle projects.

8.      The Guilford Citizens Day Parade had a good 474 turn out.  Thanks to everyone who participated.

9.      October 7th 8:30-3:00 - 4th ANNUAL HAMMONASSETT CHAPTER of TROUT UNLIMITED YOUTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL DAY Rain or Shine- learn how to fly fish and tie flies  – This event is now full – Thanks to all who signed up.

10. Scout Accomplishments worthy of special assignment include:

All Scouts are encouraged to see Mr. T. to share their talents, skills & ideas

11. REVISED ROSTER- is now available.  Give all changes to Mr. T.

 

B. TONIGHT’S AGENDA

1.      Finalize Troop and Patrol Structure, Appointments & Positions

2.      Review clothing layering and proper techniques for cleaning camp dishes, without feeding the wild animals or making yourself sick.
