Rock Climbing Trip

 

When: Sunday- March 12th-

 

Where: Ragged Mountain

 

Details: This day trip will offer a look into outdoor rock climbing and will cover all the

            topics discussed in the merit badge requirements. i.e.- knots, safety, related first

            aid. All gear will be provided with the exception of those items specifically listed

            on this sheet. This trip will be geared towards those who have never been

            climbing before.

 

            Logistics( carpooling etc.) will be worked out once the number of boys in the

            crew is finalized. So far the plan is to meet at the Lake Q. Pavilion at 8 a.m. and

            return in time for the Blue and Gold.

           

            * The crew will be capped at 15 boys due to safety concerns and site management

                requirements.

            ** If you plan to go without a parent present you must have a consent

                           form signed. If you have any concerns please contact me.

 

What: This will be a day trip. Please bring a lunch and enough water ( at least 2 liters) to

            last you the day. It can get windy so a jacket or hat is never a bad idea. There is a

            short hike into the site and you may want to wear hiking boots. If you decide to

            wear boots bring a pair of sneakers to climb in. In addition to sneakers Please

            bring a helmet!!!
