A.  ANNOUNCEMENTS

1.      Go to www.troop474.org  for schedule, event descriptions, photos, resources, neat stuff

2.      12/3&4 – Camp out & hike – need an oral report of those brave scouts that camped and hiked.

3.      ATTENTION MUSICIANS; BRING YOUR INSTRUMENTS to the 12/1 and12/8 and 12/15 meetings. Mrs Clark is leading the BSA Troop 474 Christmas Band again this year.  Hoo Rah Mrs Clark!  Venue with Troop provided pizza in between is as follows;

12/17/05   Fowlers Nursing Home      11:30 – 1:00

                   Guilford House           2:00 – 3:00

                   Walmart                       4:00 – whenever

4.       ATTENTION ALL DEN CHIEFS – Matt McGregor – we need you Troop Guide-Senior Den Chief for the back half of the scout year. Matt should identify DC’s and organize part of a Thursday night meeting to review, lead direct efforts of the DC’s. Attention DC’s, it is your responsibility to make arrangements directly with  Mr. McCloskey Cub Master Pack 475 or Mr. Conrad Cub Master Pack 472 regarding the den(s) you will serve. In order for you to satisfy this as being a Troop position, you will need to attend MANY of the weekly Den meetings, MOST of the monthly Pack Meetings, and the Blue & Gold/Cross Over at the end of the year. Periodically you present a BRIEF written & or oral report to the Troop, Mr. P., Mr. McCloskey & Mr. Conrad regarding your efforts. TEACH THE OATH, THE LAW, HOW TO TIE SIMPLE KNOTS LIKE SQUARE KNOT, DO A UNIFORM INSPECTION, EXPLAIN THE MEANING OF THE PATCHES ON YOUR UNIFORMS AND MORE. At your Eagle Board of Review, you will need to explain what you did as Den Chief.  Belonging to Troop 474, you are rich in outdoor adventures and community service. Cubs admire you and are lucky to have a 474 den chief.

5.      Junior Leader Training -ATTENTION 1st Class Scouts 13 or older. Junior Leader Training 1/6-8 & 1/13-15 (two back to back weekends at Deer Lake) are being offered. Troop will cover half the cost (or all for anyone asking) as long as you complete the course. Although it is open to all eligible scouts, obviously perfect candidates not having already completed JLT are Michael Heinemann, Derek Malinowski, Matt Brechlin, Chris Terwilliger, Chris Terwilliger…Gentlemen, take advantage of the gift being offered?

6.      December 17th – Food Drive – Thank you Mr. Terwilliger

7.      Katrina Relief – BSA Troop 562 of Slidell Louisiana Funds have been raised. Final tally will be reported in the next week or so when the letter goes out. Thank you Mr. Malinowski/Mr. Heinemann

8.      Charter Renewal; Troop 474 thanks Mr. McCloskey for administrating the charter renewal…coordinated with Mr. Heinemann’s treasury efforts…engine room efforts the people on deck sometimes miss…Hoo Rah Mr. McCloskey & Mr. Heinemann! 

9.      January 1st New years Day 3:30 Chris Federici Eagle Court of Honor – Put it on your calendar. Please Support Chris Federici that afternoon at the First Congregational Church..
