2.      10/23rd Guilford Community Service Halloween Festival Game Room- Thanks to The Clarks, ASPL Adam Clark and 200 goldfish for taking charge again this year.

3.      10/25 Camping Demonstration for Pack 475 was a success. Special thanks to all Scouts & Scouters who made it happen. We are troop 474.

4.      10/27 Court Of HonorThank You Mr Terwilliger, Rank Advancement Chairman for the administrative heavy lifting you cheerfully do. Everyone should thank Mr. T.

5.      10/29/05 Haunted Hay Ride / Park and Rec in cooperation with the Guilford Ag Society: SPL Caleb Dudley is looking for volunteers.  Thank you Caleb for your leadership. Support him & the effort.

DATE:  Saturday, October 29, 2005 TIME:  7:00pm DETAILS:  There are skits needed for scaring visitors, but keep in mind these visitors are mainly elementary age and younger, so be kind.  Some examples could be:  kids dressed up in costumes and jump out from behind something like a home-made cardboard grave stone. Maybe Scouts in uniform with scary masks can come out of tents or sleeping bags? Don't over do yourself but try to make it somewhat believably scary.

6.      11/5&6 - BACKPACK TRIP APPALACHIAN TRAIL –. Kent CT/NY border region; Moderate trail Wiley Shelter. Separate handout. Please advise Mr. Pecoraro if you will need to borrow personal gear such as backpacks. Troop has tents.

7.      11/12 & 13 TURKEY ROAST WEEKEND. PUT IT ON YOUR CALENDAR – At the Cedars at Deer Lake. Webelo II dens of Pack 472 (Mr. Conrad) & Pack 475 (Mr. McCloskey), please communicate invite to Webelo II and their families. Separate handout to follow.

8.      11/18/05 Friday – Camping Demonstration for Pack 472 at Melissa Jones Elementary Volunteers at all levels are needed. Same drill.

9.       POPCORN SALES ARE DUE NOW!!!.  See Mrs Laudano. Thank you Mrs Laudano

10.  ATTENTION ALL DEN CHIEFS – Matt McGregor is Troop Guide-Senior Den Chief. Matt should identify DC’s and organize part of a Thursday night meeting to review, lead direct efforts of the DC’s. Attention DC’s, it is your responsibility to make arrangements directly with  Mr. McCloskey Cub Master Pack 475 or Mr. Conrad Cub Master Pack 472 regarding the den(s) you will serve. In order for you to satisfy this as being a Troop position, you will need to attend MANY of the weekly Den meetings, MOST of the monthly Pack Meetings, and the Blue & Gold/Cross Over at the end of the year. Periodically you present a BRIEF written & or oral report to the Troop, Mr. P., Mr. McCloskey & Mr. Conrad regarding your efforts. TEACH THE OATH, THE LAW, HOW TO TIE SIMPLE KNOTS LIKE SQUARE KNOT, DO A UNIFORM INSPECTION, EXPLAIN THE MEANING OF THE PATCHES ON YOUR UNIFORMS AND MORE. At your Eagle Board of Review, you will need to explain what you did as Den Chief.  Belonging to Troop 474, you are rich in outdoor adventures and community service. Cubs admire you and are lucky to have a 474 den chief. Make cubs want to join 474!!!!

11. Katrina Relief – Mr. Malinowski (474 Web Master) has been contacted by BSA Troop 562 out of Slidell Louisiana who was ravished by Katrina. Adult leadership has done due diligence ensuring this is genuine. Troop 474 is collecting funds to help the troop buy new uniforms, scout books, camping gear and the like. Please reach into your pocket and place donation of any amount ($1 to $1million) in 562 Katrina Box
