A.  ANNOUNCEMENTS

2.      PACK 472 Pack Meeting - Camping Demonstration – Friday 5/20 at 7:00 at Melissa JonesUrgently needs 474 scouts & scouters to set up  and present camping stations including tents, sleeping bags, stoves/cook kits, backpacks, PowerPoint slideshow, misc. gear i.e. H2O pumps. Please contact Mr. P. if you are interested so that responsibilities to scouts can be delegated…you are needed please!!!  Troop Guides and SPL types, here is an opportunity to satisfy requirement you can share with Mr. Dolan when you are at your Eagle Board.

3.      Order of the Arrow – Congrats to newly elected members to OA including Greg Laird, Derek Malinowski, Adam & Dominic Casinelli, and Alex Jagielski. You will be getting your letters from OA shortly. OA reviewed the recent election and noted a technical flaw in the vote tallying which included recent crossovers that were not qualified to vote since they did not really know the boys they were voting for. The correct vote was recounted and showed without question what we already knew. Troop 474 scouts do more camping in one year than many scouts do in their life. Hoo Rah Alex, Greg, Derek, Dom & Adam, the best OA scouts you will find!!!!

4.      District Recognition Dinner – Tuesday 5/31 – All registered adult leaders are urged to attend. 474 will cover the cost. Mystery 474 adult leaders will be recognized with shining star awards. Let Mr. Pecoraro know ASAP so reservations can be made.

5.      Troop Roster – Is still being finalized and will be circulated next meeting

6.      Neckerchiefs and 474 numbers are backordered - Neckerchiefs donated for the last dubbing ceremony will be replaced.

7.      To Kill a Mockingbird - Show your support for our own Aiden Finger who is in the play “To Kill a Mockingbird” Upcoming shows at the at the Andrews Memorial Town Hall Theatre in Clinton (Rt 1) are:

Admission is $15. Adults and $12. students/seniors. Tickets at door, or 203 458-6612 ext 123.
Show is by the Nutmeg Players, Inc. and the Shoreline Foundation, and Directed by Pat Souney of Guilford.

8.      Guilford Keeping Society needs Troop 474. Troop Guide Alex Laudano. The Keeping Society outside work at the Medad Stone Tavern from 9 am to 12pm.  Dates: Jan.29, Feb. 26, Mar. 26, April 23, May 28...clearing vines, trails etc. bring gloves and clippers. 

9.      ROCK JOCKS spearheaded by Sean H, Matt P & Adam C…interested in going to Prime Climb?...or boldering at Chatfield Hollow?...see Sean, Matt or Adam  

10. FOOD DRIVE – Huge success- thanks to Mr T and all who participated…details to follow.

11. First Aid – Mrs. Jagielski and Co. Thank you Mrs. J. for the extraordinary effort…it just might save a life one day

12. May Weekly Meetings – will be at Pecoraro’s house to work on Strawberry Social Tower depending on weather. Stay alert to announcements regarding meeting location. Daylight is key…arrive no later than 7:00

13. May 14-15 Cape Cod Bike Ride and camping – Thanks to Wood Duck Chairman Federici. Huge success…fun was had by all. Need oral report

14. May 14 WW II Monument Dedication on the Green – Thank you to the 10 or 12 boys who participated in the event which included a visit from Attorney general. Guilford loves troop 474  J

15. Memorial Day Parade – Those interested in marching with the Troop meet in front of City Hall at 9:30 day of parade

16. Strawberry Social - June 5th. See separate hand out – Sell tickets and build your scout account.

17. Taste of Guilford Community Service June 26 Troop 474 does garbage patrol while consuming massive quantities of food & soda.

18. Camp Yawgoog – week two July 3 until July 10 – See Mr. Terwilliger for details. Thank you Mr. T.

19. Canoe Trip – July 15- July 22 – see Mr. Aery and web site for details…Mr. A, we worship you.  J

20. August 8 Yankees vs. White Sox bus trip-contact Mr. Conrad 457 6937 or e mail him at therad@att.net. $40.

21. Class B Shirts – See Mr. Landon / Mr. McCloskey for Troop tee shirts, collared shirts and hats.
