CAPE COD BIKE RIDE
FRIDAY 9/26 – SUNDAY 9/28
DESCRIPTION - Friday Night 9/26 – Sunday 9/28; Troop 474 plans on cycling and camping at Cape Cod. Ideally everyone will arrive Friday night. Transportation will be sorted prior to trip. Those wishing to arrive Saturday morning must be at camp with bikes unloaded by 8:30 AM. Troop plans on riding 50 miles on Saturday (or shorter 25 for less willing). Terrain is relatively flat. Troop will consider to ride add’l 25 miles on Sunday for those willing. Remember this is a camp out which can satisfy advancement requirements such as tenting, meal planning and cooking as patrols…multi purpose opportunity!

BSA TROOP 474 (adult leaders Town/Dietz/Mcgregor/Federici/Pecoraro) Mr. Dietz & Mr Town are cycling merit badge counsellors…be nice to them.Open to all Scouts. Patrol structure is encouraged. PL’s gather your men!

Follow three season camping list – BE PREPARED FOR TRICKY WEATHER, WIND, RAIN & TEMPERATURE. It is a tricky place at a tricky time of year. Rain gear and ability to layer are a must. Bring camping stove if you have. Troop pots are available although bring your own if you have.FOOD –
All Meals will be managed by patrol or individuals;Friday night –
Every man for himself unless patrols plan differently. Keep meal simple and easy …i.e. cold chicken, sandwiches, cheese, back pack type meal.Saturday Breakfast – By Patrol – quick and easy to cook and clean up. Time to get riding will be tight.
GOOD NUTRISION = ENERGY
Saturday Lunch –
Bring Money since food/soda/ice cream will be available along the way. Also bring backpack style lunch & trail mix just in case. Salami, cheese, tortilla, gorp are strongly suggested since high in calories, easy to keep, easy to transport.Saturday Dinner –
