474 plans on cycling and camping at
DEPARTURE TIME & PLACE TO BE ANNOUNCED
WHO – BSA TROOP 474 (adult
leaders Wolek/Edgerton/Malinowski/Town) Mr. Dietz
& Mr. Town are cycling merit badge counselors…Open to all Scouts.
Patrol structure is encouraged. PL’s gather your men!
WHERE -
GEAR – Follow three season camping list – BE PREPARED FOR TRICKY
WEATHER, WIND, RAIN & TEMPERATURE.
It is a tricky place at a tricky time of year. Rain
gear and ability to layer are a must. Bring camping stove if you have. Troop
pots are available although bring your own if you have.
FOOD – All Meals will be managed by patrol or individuals;
Friday night – Every man for himself unless patrols plan differently.
Keep meal
simple and easy …i.e. cold chicken, sandwiches, cheese, back pack type meal.
Saturday Breakfast – By Patrol – quick and easy to cook and clean up.
Time
to get riding will be tight.
GOOD
NUTRITION = ENERGY
Saturday Lunch – Bring Money since food/soda/ice cream will be available along the way. Also bring
backpack style lunch & trail mix just in case. Salami, cheese, tortilla, gorp
are
strongly suggested since high in calories, easy to keep, easy to
transport.
Saturday Dinner – By Patrol…do as you like!
Sunday Breakfast – By Patrol, keep it simple and nutritious.
BREAK CAMP & RETURN HOME ABOUT 10:00 (unless there are those who want to ride more) and
return to
